Our Experience

My name is Yalonda Smith, author of A Pocket Guide to How to Start a Successful Group Home and CEO of Cornerstone Consulting  & Coaching, LLC (formerly known as How to Start a Successful Group Home, LLC). I am a location-independent consultant who has been in the child welfare and group home field since 2006. After 10 years in the industry including 5 years of group home ownership, I decided to consult full-time. Since 2009, I have shared my passion by helping others to make their dream of business ownership a reality for clients across the nation. After many requests over the years, I am now launching my training academy to provide preparation, skills, and training to aspirting CEO's and Administrators. It is amazing when you can walk in your God given purpose, positively  impact peoples lives, and build wealth!

I am an ASQ Certified Quality Assurance Associate, Tony Gaskins Certified Life Coach, and a Devereux Certified Staff Effectiveness Trainer. I also have my California and Georgia real estate sales license so I can also assist my clients in finding the perfect home or facility.

For existing social service and human service agencies, I now offer onsite Organizational Development and Program Evaluation Services here in Atlanta for those interesting in growing and expanding! I am excited to announce that I am a new Organizational Development Certified Professional (ODCP). I use the Action Research Model (ARM) to provide Organization Development Services. ARM’S purpose is to increase organization effectiveness and health by identifying needs and planning appropriate interventions using behavioral-science  knowledge. The Action Research Model is a method to facilitate change in an organization’s system using a diagnostic process to identify the root cause of a problem, and using the data to find effective solutions. 

 I am a "One Stop Shop" consulting agency for those wanting to know how to start a small social service agency, become an entrepreneur, or obtain the training and skills necessary to succeed as a new CEO. Here at Cornerstone Training Academy, you get take personal and professional development coures, purchase training materials to provide initial and annual training to your employees, and even make a one-time investment to purchase training materials to start a training business!  I specialize in helping God given dreams to come true!
